This was the first photo in a long and productive day of picture taking. The cloud in this photo is actually a thin layer of fog hovering about 100 feet above the ground. I raced along the relatively barren landscape to find a suitable foreground for what I suspected was to be a nice sunrise, due to the rich color glowing on the horizon. Way up ahead was a lone windmill, and I barely got there and got the camera on the tripod in time for the photo. Subequent frames taken seconds later did not have the same look or feel. This is south of Ft. Stockton, Texas, May 24, 2005.
